The Mimaki SUV sets new standards by combining the flexibility of solvent printing with the durability of UV cured inks, resulting in instantly dry, smooth, glossy prints, which simulate the appearance of being coated yet retaining the brightness expected from a solvent printer.

High Scratch Resistance

When printed, a robust UV component remains on the media after UV curing. This provides a surprisingly strong scratch resistance (rub-fastness). In fact, Solvent UV is equal to or better than solvent ink in weatherability and alcohol resistance. With material such as banner and flex, where lamination is difficult and often not performed, a considerable increase in durability can be expected.scratch

Solvent UV ink contains a solvent component which attacks the receiving layer of the media, thereby fixing the pigment to the material.  UV curing is not performed when the ink is discharged onto the surface of the material, but after the pigment is fixed to the media, all while maintaining the vivid color reproduction of solvent ink.

This results in an extremely smooth surface resulting in a high gloss finish to the print. Signs with solvent UV have a bold and vivid appearance, which makes them much more vibrant and eye-catching to the viewer.

Solvent UV ink contains a solvent component and a UV ink component. First, the solvent component attacks the receiving layer of the media, fixing the pigment; the subsequent UV curing assures very high durability. When using Mimaki Solvent UV Inks, drying and curing is immediate.

Therefore, drying times are completely eliminated. Immediately after printing has completed, secondary processing, such as lamination and other types of fitting and finishing, can be performed. This dramatically increases both productivity and efficiency.

3 Way Intelligent Heater improves the colour reproduction and fixability of ink by heating the media to the proper temperature before, during and after printing. In combination with the 3 Way Intelligent Heater, the UV curing unit immediately cures the ink to be fixed.

Nozzle Recovery

If, during the course of production, you soffer from a nozzle blockage, you can use Miamki's Nozzle Recover System to correct for this. You can map the affected nozzle, and the machine will compensate for this withou any effect on speed or print quality (up to eleven nozzles per channel).

Uninterrupted Ink Supply Systems (UISS)

Two ink cartridges per colour are set in 4-colour mode. When the ink level of one cartridge is almost empty, the ink supply automatically switched to another cartridge of the same colour, preventing from stopping a print job due to running out of ink.

Eco-cartridges can be repeatedly used by changing spent ink packs. This eco-cartridge method contributes to waste reduction and can provide ink at lower prices.
